About

Dr. Lourdes Celius is the psychiatric mental health nursing full-time faculty at Carroll Community College. She earned her Master’s (entry into nursing) degree at Johns Hopkins School of Nursing and went on to complete her Doctor of Nursing practice degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner with a concentration in primary care in 2022. She pursued a Psychiatric Mental Health post-master’s certificate in 2023. Dr. Celius has worked as an inpatient psychiatric staff nurse for several years at a psychiatric hospital in Towson, MD. In addition to instruction, she also works as a primary care Nurse Practitioner in an outpatient clinic in Hunt Valley. Dr. Celius is a proud first-generation student. She enjoys discussions with students about therapeutic strategies to assist all patients with mindful consideration of how inpatient hospitalizations or chronic disease management can influence a person’s mental health
