Westminster, Md., Wednesday, November 17, 2021 – Carroll Community College was officially recognized by The Board of Carroll County Commissioners and the Maryland General Assembly of Carroll County – Legislative District 5 for its exemplary performance resulting in being named number one community college in Maryland and tenth nationwide by College Consensus. They respectively declared November 17, 2021, Carroll Community College Day.
The Board of Carroll County Commissioners’ Proclamation stated in-part, “We are proud of our history and partnership with Carroll Community College and value its great contribution to the community.” The Proclamation continued, “We, The Board of Carroll County Commissioners, urge all county citizens to join us in applauding Carroll Community College’s high rankings with College Consensus. We appreciate Carroll Community College for providing accessible, high-quality educational opportunities to advance careers, enrich lives, and strengthen the community.”
The Maryland General Assembly of Carroll County – Legislative District 5 Official Citation noted, its sincerest congratulations to “the dedicated faculty and staff who have made this possible.”
Dr. James D. Ball, president of Carroll Community College, Kelly M. Frager, Chairperson for Carroll’s Board of Trustees, and Dr. Raza Khan, Chairperson of the College’s Sciences Division and Program Director for the STEM Scholars, received the official recognition on behalf of the College community. “I could not be prouder of our students, faculty and staff. Their dedication, persistence, and hard work are the reason we continue to excel on behalf of our students and our community,” said Dr. Ball. “They are the driving force behind making Carroll the community’s college.”
