Carroll Community College and Local Businesses Unite for 2nd Annual Winter Market
Westminster, MD─ Carroll Community College (Carroll) is gearing up to transform its campus into a festive shopping experience during its second annual Winter Market on Saturday, December 14, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
There will be over 70 small businesses, food trucks, and fun family activities at this holiday extravaganza. Vendors will offer many unique gift selections, including arts and crafts, ceramics, paintings, jewelry, fused glass, books, woodworking crafts, handmade rugs and blankets, dolls, handmade soaps and bath bombs, motivational and spiritual materials, lotions, and hair products, music CDs, hand-stitched fiber arts, sweets and treats and much more! The Winter Market will also have free kids’ crafts and a snow globe photo booth.
As a gathering point for the community, the event aims to foster connections, offering attendees an opportunity to explore and appreciate the diverse array of products and services offered by local entrepreneurs. This festive affair brings together a dynamic mix of entrepreneurs, students, faculty, and community members, creating a networking hub that facilitates valuable connections, collaborations, and partnerships.
“I am excited to be a part of this event again,” said Brenda Murphy, owner of Stampin By Brenda.
Aligned with the missions of Miller which includes Resources for Entrepreneurs and the Small Business Development Center, the Winter Market is more than just a marketplace; it’s a catalyst for encouraging individuals to embark on entrepreneurial journeys, fostering a culture of innovation and self-employment.
“Within Carroll Community College’s 2nd annual Winter Market, every vendor stands as a testament to the support and nurturing provided by our Workforce, Business & Community Education (WBCE) Business Solutions team, which includes Miller,” said Dr. Kelly Koermer, vice president of WBCE at the College.
This collaborative event, orchestrated in partnership with local businesses, holds particular significance for Business Solutions at Carroll. Murphy said the Winter Market last year was amazing and well attended by many visitors and vendors.
The Winter Market at Carroll Community College promises not only a shopping experience but a celebration of community, innovation, and the spirit of entrepreneurship.
