Miller Impact Report: January 2025

Empowering Entrepreneurs in Carroll County
Executive Summary
Miller: Resources for Entrepreneurs facilitated the launch of two new businesses and welcomed 13 new clients from around the county including Westminster, Sykesville, and Mt. Airy.
Miller received approvals from Taneytown Economic Development and the Carroll County Public Library Taneytown branch to launch a series of five workshops for entrepreneurs and small businesses this spring. If successful, Miller plans to expand these free workshops to other towns.
Additionally, Miller is spearheading a new initiative called the Retail Connections program, currently being piloted in Westminster. This program aims to provide home-based businesses with opportunities to sell their products in retail locations, thereby enhancing local communities’ access to home-based products.
More than 60 entrepreneurs registered and attended the Carroll Biz Challenge kickoff, hosted by Miller at the College. Miller offers comprehensive support to these entrepreneurs, assisting them with their applications and providing guidance for their on-stage business pitches, especially for those who make it to the top five!

I really appreciate Tom Mazerski taking the time to meet with me and share his insights on marketing my travel business. Our conversation gave me a lot of clarity, and his advice on clarifying what services I offer and less on my company name really gave me a fresh perspective. I’m excited to start putting these ideas into action.
