Samantha Bouma: Student Credits Carroll for Her Successful Transfer
Twenty-year-old Samantha Bouma studied early childhood education at Carroll and graduated in Fall 2016. Currently, she attends Towson University and plans to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Spring 2018.
While she enjoys Towson, Bouma recalls her favorite instructor was Mrs. Williamson at Carroll, whom she credits with preparing her well for a four-year university. “Mrs. Williamson is encouraging, patient, understanding, motivational and truly cares about each of her students,” said Bouma. “I wish she could have transferred to Towson with me! She helped me grow tremendously in the field of education, and I cannot thank her enough.”
The experiences I remember from Carroll led me to form life-long relationships with many people in the education field.
Bouma said she enjoyed a multitude of experiences at Carroll. Her favorite experience, however, was her internship. “I was placed as an intern in a kindergarten classroom. I still talk to my mentor today. I even substitute for her when she calls me. The experiences I remember from Carroll led me to form life-long relationships with many people in the education field. These bonds will be with me forever.”
After obtaining a bachelor’s degree, Bouma plans to apply for a job in the public school system. She then wants to work towards her Master’s degree.
