Course Placement & Eligibility
There are many different ways that students can determine placement and where to begin. The first step is to determine what classes you will start with based on what you have already done and the program you will pursue at Carroll and for transfer.

- Ask your high school counselor if you have space in your schedule for dual enrollment and discuss options. if you do, your counselor will ask you to apply to Carroll and give you dual enrollment approval.
- If you have questions, contact Admissions at 410-386-8430.
- High school 2.6 unweighted grade point average or higher (valid for 5 years after high school graduation)
- Call the Advising office at 410-386-8435 to schedule an appointment to meet with an advisor and register for classes.
- High school unweighted grade point average below 2.6 may place with SAT or ACT scores (Valid for 2 years) if you have taken them.
- If you have not taken these tests, please call Advising at 410-386-8435 to schedule an Initial Advising Appointment. It is important to meet with a dedicated advisor who will welcome you, discuss your program interest/goals and help determine class placement and/or placement assessment (if needed).
- Previous college credit at Carroll or another institution, please call Advising at 410-386-8435 to schedule an appointment with an advisor.
- Have transcript(s) from other institutions attended sent to Admissions@carrollcc.edu
- A meeting with an advisor may be necessary, as they will help determine class placement and/or placement assessment (if needed).
