The Testing Center serves students according to the standards of the National College Testing Association.

As we belong to the NCTA Proctoring Network, you may use these resources to locate another testing center in the U.S. Please visit the NCTA member map.

Proprietary Test Services

Carroll Community College is authorized to provide proctoring for the following proprietary test services:

• Certiport: Visit www.certiport.com and create a user account.  Then call the Testing Center at 410 386 8450  to schedule an appointment.  If you do not have a voucher for the test, you may purchase a voucher from us at a discounted rate.  Be sure to bring your Certiport account information with you on test day.
• CLEP: Visit clep.collegeboard.org to sign up and pay for an exam then call the Testing Center at 410-386-8450 to schedule a testing appointment.
• Pearson VUE: Visit home.pearsonvue.com/test-taker.aspx to schedule and pay for your exam.

Testing Checklist

• Check closing notices on the College calendar or homepage.
• When scheduling your test, consider events in the Great Hall. Noise can be distracting.
• Appointments are required for all testers–Reserve computers and special equipment when scheduling your appointment.
• Photo ID is required for all testers.

Placement Testing

There are many ways to place directly into college-level courses without testing. Please review the eligibility requirements below. If you meet any of the outlined criteria, your next step is to call or email the Admissions office to schedule an appointment to register for classes. Have your transcripts or test scores sent or available for your appointment.

If you are not eligible for direct placement, you will take the placement test in English and/or Math to determine your placement as follows:

1. Review eligibility for taking college-level classes. Many students are eligible to take classes based on high school grade point average or standardized test scores (SAT, ACT).
2. Complete your enrollment application at least 48 hours prior to testing. Set up your student account.
3. Call the Admissions office at 410-386-8430 for information about taking the placement tests.

Do I need to take a placement test?

Please review the exemptions below for ways to place directly into college-level courses without testing:

If you qualify for an exemption, bring a copy of your unofficial transcripts and/or test scores with you when you come in to register. Standardized test scores are only valid for placement for two years.
