Grants

Applicants must be high school seniors who complete a college preparatory or technical preparatory program with an unweighted cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.500 or better. The recipient must be full-time student. Annual awards range from $400 to $14,300 and are renewable if eligibility criteria continues to be met and the student maintains satisfactory academic progress.

Applicants should submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Guaranteed Access Grant application by March 1. Guaranteed Access Grant Applications received after March 1 are considered if funding is available.

Applicants may be high school seniors or full-time degree-seeking undergraduates. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 1. Late applicants are placed on a waiting list. Annual awards of $400 to $3,000 may be renewed if the student maintains satisfactory academic progress, completes the FAFSA by March 1 each year, and continues to show financial need.

Funding for this program is provided to Maryland colleges and universities to award to full-time students who demonstrate financial need and have not received other state aid. Awards are restricted to students who do not complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 1. Awards are based on the availability of funds and are not renewable.

Applicants may be high school seniors, degree-seeking undergraduates or full- or part-time graduate students. Applicants should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 1 and contact their Senator in February for additional application procedures. Applicants who graduated from high school five or more years ago, have completed 24 college credits, or attended a community college, do not have to take the SAT 1 or ACT. The minimum annual award is $400 and may be renewed if the student maintains satisfactory academic progress.

Applicants may be high school seniors, degree-seeking undergraduates or full- or part-time graduate students. Applicants must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 1 and contact their delegate in February for additional application procedures, and may have to demonstrate financial need. Annual awards of $200 or more require recipients to maintain satisfactory academic progress and reapply for the award each year.

This program provides assistance to full- or part-time students who are dependents of deceased or 100 percent disabled members of the U.S. Armed Forces, deceased victims of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, and deceased public safety employees or volunteers who were killed in the line of duty. Awards cover tuition and fees, not to exceed $9,000, and may be renewed. The deadline to submit the Edward T Conroy Memorial Scholarship is July 1. Applications can be obtained at Carroll’s Financial Aid Office.

This program provides assistance to military members who have served in Afghanistan or Iraq on or after Oct. 24, 2001 and their dependents who are either current high school seniors or undergraduate degree-seeking students enrolled at an accredited Maryland institution. Applicants should submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Scholarship Application by March 1. Awards may be renewed if the recipient maintains a minimum 2.500 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and continues to meet the eligibility criteria.

Funding for this program is provided to Maryland institutions to award students who demonstrate financial need and enroll for less than 12 credit hours. Annual awards of $200 to $2,000 are based on availability of funds at the institution and may or may not be renewed each year.

This program provides funds to undergraduate nursing students who are not residents of Maryland but attend a Maryland two-year or four-year public institution. Awards are not based on need, but require Maryland employment. The Nonresident Tuition Reduction and State Aid Program for Nursing Students application must be completed and submitted to the student’s college financial aid office.
