Session Descriptions

Meditation is a commonly used term that is often misunderstood. Many people assume it involves clearing your mind, is religious, takes hours, is only for stress relief, must be done in silence, involves complicated rules, and that there is only one type of meditation. Discuss what meditation is and is not, explore different types of meditation, learn how it relates to mindfulness, discover its benefits, and practice at least one short meditation session.

April Herring

In our daily lives we often encounter situations that can lead to emotional dysregulation, such as feeling overwhelmed by work stress, experiencing conflicts in relationships, or facing unexpected challenges. These situations can trigger intense emotions that are difficult to manage, leading to anxiety, frustration, or sadness.

Emotional regulation improves mental health by reducing anxiety and depression; enhances relationships by fostering better communication; boosts resilience by increasing your ability to handle stress and setbacks; and promotes well-being by contributing to overall happiness and life satisfaction.

Explore how to manage and respond to emotions in a healthy way. Learn key practices that can help to address the root causes of emotional overwhelm and do one short practice. Developing these skills can significantly improve your quality of life. Takeaway practical methods to approach emotional regulation and resources for further exploration and skill development.

What if everything you needed to be your best self — mind, body, and spirit — was already within you? Imagine if this inner wisdom contained not only remedies for life’s challenges but also preventative practices, helping you face fewer problems. How different would life be if you could harness this knowledge to experience more peace of mind, better physical health, and a sense of alignment, fulfillment and purpose? Well, allow me to introduce you to the chakras!

Julie Cassaday

Being a caregiver can be a wonderful experience. Whether by profession or circumstance because a family member needs care, you are special indeed! While caring for others, there is a tendency to pour out more energy than there is to seek and capture new energy flowing back into us. By applying a practice of mindfulness, you build in small steps that pay big dividends in resilience and peace in your life. During this program we will discuss simple, no cost ways to add to your self-care practice and how it and mindfulness can bolster even the most depleted caregiver.

Did you know that before we are able to fully embrace love for and from another, we must first feel unconditional love for ourselves? When we decide to accept ourselves exactly as we are now, unconditionally, an expansiveness of love and compassion for others follows. The Importance of Self-Love provides perspective and guidance to learn how you might be limiting the fully expressed version of love that is available to you right now.

Julie Cassaday

When you consider your life, it is not uncommon to experience emotions like guilt, anger, and shame. Often during events resulting in these feelings, it can be a challenge to focus adequate attention and determine how matters got to such a state. Our tendency is to tuck away what we think and feel until some “convenient” time in the future. Or, perhaps, just file away the experience in the archives to be left forever. If you are nodding your head in agreement, then too, you probably can acknowledge that there are emotions you’ve yet to address. Learn the process to scan our minds and bodies, identify, reconcile and release negative emotions. When we take time and energy to address pain from our past and process it appropriately, we make room for a life of freedom, space, and clarity.

Annie Cumberland
