The Pitch Contest will be held on campus on Thursday, November 14 at 5 p.m.
Applications accepted Sept. 15 – Oct. 7.

The Everyday Entrepreneur Program and Fund — a collaboration between Carroll Community College, the National Association of Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE) and the Everyday Entrepreneur Venture Fund — aims to support student entrepreneurs in bringing their innovative ideas to fruition. The program provides not just funding but also mentorship, education and access to a network of industry experts.

You must be a current Carroll Community College credit student or registered as a non-credit student any time between Aug. 1 – Dec. 31, 2024.

You need a business idea, which is possible to start within 16 weeks, or an existing business in its early stages.

Your business must support at least one full-time/part-time job within 12 months of its start-up. This can include the business owner.

Applications will be accepted Sept. 15 – Oct. 7.

Complete the application below to enter the Pitch Contest. It will be reviewed by Carroll’s Everyday Entrepreneur Venture Fund (EEVF) advisors to confirm eligibility and to assess business viability.

Once accepted into the Pitch Contest, you will work with a SBDC counselor to assess the viability of your business idea and to build your business and financial plans. You will meet one-on-one four times prior to the Pitch Contest on November 14. Sessions will be coordinated with your schedule, can be remote and last about one hour.

In these sessions you will be preparing for your pitch to create:

  • Business Model Canvas
  • Lean Business Plan
  • Financial Plan, including projected Profit & Loss and Cash Flow statements.
  • Pitch Deck
  • Funding Request, explaining how much money is being requested and how it will be used to further the business idea or business.

Working with your EEVT advisor, you will use this information to create your business pitch to the EEVF Funding Committee, which will be responsible for determining which businesses will receive grants and the specific grant amounts.

Grant recipients will be required to secure an Employment Identification Number and open a business bank account before they can receive the grant.

Grant recipients will also be required to meet with a small business within the community who can give you additional insight into what starting a business in your field entails.

Grant recipients will receive free mentoring assistance and be required to provide updates on their progress to their SBDC consultant for two years

Apply for the Pitch Contest and your chance at a $2,500, $1,250 or $500 grant!

Forms must be completed by October 7.
