Carroll Welcomes New Head Coach of Running Programs
This past July, Mark Reedy was named head coach of the Cross Country and Track & Field programs at Carroll Community College. He takes over the role after a successful run by the co-head coaching combination of Justin Metzger and Amanda Milewski who started both of the running programs at the College.
Coach Reedy comes to Carroll from the Western School of Technology where he has been coaching since 2021. In that time, he won seven regional championships with both the boys and girls teams, also winning back-to-back state championships with the girls outdoor track & field team in 2022 and 2023. His success there led him to being named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Maryland State coach of the year in 2022 and 2023. He also gained college coaching experience during this time serving as an assistant coach of the track & field team at Goucher College.
Coach Reedy had previously been the head coach at Hammond High School in Howard County where his girls track & field team took third place at the outdoor state championships in 2009.
His longest tenured coaching role to this point was at Mt. Hebron High School from 1999-2006 where he was the girls cross country and the girls and boys track & field head coach. His time there saw three Howard County championships and five regional championships. He was named the Washington Post boys outdoor track coach of the year in 2004 while also being named the Baltimore Sun and Washington Post coach of the year in 2001, 2002 and 2003.
We warmly welcome Coach Reedy to Carroll and look forward to the upcoming season!
