Carroll Community College and Local Businesses Unite for Winter Market
Westminster, MD─ Carroll Community College is gearing up to transform its campus into a festive haven for its first Winter Market, being held Saturday, Dec. 9, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
There will be over 60 small businesses, food trucks, live music, and fun family activities at this holiday extravaganza.
There will be many unique gift selections, including arts and crafts, ceramics, paintings, jewelry, fused glass, books, woodworking crafts, handmade rugs and blankets, dolls, handmade soaps and bath bombs, motivational and spiritual materials, lotions, and hair products, music CDs, hand-stitched fiber arts, sweets and treats and much more! The Market will also have free kids’ crafts and a free ski lift photo booth.
As a gathering point for the community, the event aims to foster connections, offering attendees an opportunity to explore and appreciate the diverse array of products and services offered by local entrepreneurs. This festive affair brings together a dynamic mix of entrepreneurs, students, faculty, and community members, creating a networking hub that facilitates valuable connections, collaborations, and partnerships.
“Within Carroll Community College’s inaugural Winter Market, every vendor stands as a testament to the support and nurturing provided by our Business Solutions Team, which includes the Miller Resources for Entrepreneurs and the Small Business Development Center,” said Dr. Kelly Koermer, vice president of Continuing Education and Training at the College.
This collaborative event, orchestrated in partnership with local businesses, holds particular significance for Business Solutions at Carroll Community College. Aligned with the missions of Miller and SBDC, the Winter Market is more than just a marketplace; it’s a catalyst for encouraging individuals to embark on entrepreneurial journeys, fostering a culture of innovation and self-employment.
“Here, entrepreneurial dreams take root and flourish, creating a vibrant marketplace where the fabric of our community intertwines with the success stories of these businesses,” Koermer said.
The Winter Market at Carroll Community College promises not only a shopping experience but a celebration of community, innovation, and the spirit of entrepreneurship.
