Website Designer

Website Designers are responsible for the design and layout of web pages that make up a client’s web presence. Designers often develop page elements, such as photos, illustrations and videos, for websites. Website Designers can find employment with graphic design firms, in a business’ marketing or communications department or as freelance designers.

This award recognizes achievement in gaining knowledge in website design. Courses may be taken in any order, but any Level 1 course must be taken before a Level 2 course.

Position Requirements


Information Unique to the Training
Courses are hands-on. You will complete graphic design projects in class.


Courses to Complete

Familiarity with basic computer skills, including keyboard and mouse. Internet, HTML and Mac computer experience preferred.

Core Courses
Complete four core courses:

  • Dreamweaver Level 1
  • Introduction to HTML and JavaScript
  • HTML5 and CSS
  • Concepts in Website Design

Complete any two of the following electives:

  • Dreamweaver Level 2
  • Flash Level 1
  • Flash Level 2
  • Muse Level 1
  • WordPress Level 1
