Computer Graphic Designer

Computer Graphic Designers are responsible for the design and layout of print and web based marketing materials, brochures, flyers and logos. Computer Graphic Designers often find employment with graphic design firms or as freelance designers.

This award recognizes achievement in gaining knowledge in computer graphics applications. Courses may be taken in any order, but any Level 1 course must be taken before a Level 2 course.

Position Requirements


Information Unique to the Training
This course is hands-on. You will complete graphic design projects in class.


Courses to Complete

Familiarity with basic computer skills, including keyboard and mouse. Mac computer experience preferred but not required.

Core Courses 
Complete three core courses:

  • DAP185 Photoshop Level 1
  • DAP440 Illustrator Level 1
  • DAP441 InDesign Level 1

Complete any two of the following electives:

  • DAP186 Photoshop Level 2
  • DAP573 Illustrator Level 2
  • DAP574 InDesign Level 2
  • TEC270 Photoshop Photo Printing and Color
  • TEC269 Photoshop Web Production
