Carroll Celebrates National Adult Education and Family Literacy Week

Carroll is celebrating National Adult Education and Family Literacy Week from Monday, Sept.10 - Sunday, Sept. 16 by showcasing programs that improve basic skills or lead to a high school diploma. Adult Education Programs provide a strong educational foundation for communities.

Newspaper and radio announcements will run throughout the week to make the community aware of this nationally-celebrated week designated by Congress.



Tuesday, Sept. 11
Students studying English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) take a trip to Carroll County Public Library's Westminster branch to familiarize themselves with the vast array of literacy resources it offers.


Wednesday, Sept. 12
Adult Education students and graduates visit the Carroll's campus for a tour and meet with college personnel to learn more about their next steps. The visit includes with lunch with college President, Dr. Faye Pappalardo, and Vice President of Continuing Education and Training, Karen Merkle.


Thursday, Sept. 13
Family Literacy/GED® students visit Carroll County Public Library's Westminster branch with their children.
