Blackboard Faculty Manual - Introduction

Carroll Community College uses an electronic learning system called Blackboard (Bb) to facilitate and enhance learning in all of Carroll's credit courses. Blackboard is a publicly owned product used worldwide. We contract to use a specific portion of the Blackboard server.

A link to Carroll’s Blackboard can be found on the college’s web site. It is recommended that faculty and students keep the direct access address saved in favorites since the Blackboard site is on a different server and will still be available on the rare occasion that the Carroll college site is down.

This electronic manual is just one source of support for faculty in their use of Bb at Carroll Community College.  All faculty are alerted via email and the professional development calendar to a variety of faculty training offered throughout the year.  Other supports include automatic access to the Faculty Resources Bb course site which provides an orientation to Bb at Carroll.  Faculty are also encouraged to direct specific Bb questions to Dr. Kay Shattuck (Bb Administrator & Director of Distance Learning Programs) by emailing, by phoning 410-386-8419), or by stopping in Room L-192.
