1. What’s one thing people might not know about Carroll?
The great list of opportunities that are available on campus. The Campus Activity Board (CAB) events offer great fun for students, for free. CAB also offers free movie nights on most Thursdays for students and community members. Carroll's service-learning events, and its fantastic Leadership Challenge program, helps students strengthen their leadership skills.
2. What do you like most about Carroll?
I would have to say the faculty and staff. They care so much about the students and about helping them to succeed, in both their classes and their lives.
3. Were you involved with any community or student organizations? Which ones and how did that affect your college experience?
I am currently involved in many different groups and organizations on campus. I am the President of CAB, a Peer Mentor for the GREAT Start program, and I am also involved with the Advanced Leadership Challenge. These great clubs have helped me become a better leader, friend, worker and, most of all, a better student. Once I started becoming involved in campus events and clubs, I began to notice a positive change in my class grades. I also met some amazing friends from these groups, both fellow students and faculty.
4. What surprised you most about Carroll?
I was surprised about just how much the teachers and staff actually care about your success in school and your life.
5. What was your favorite class and why?
My favorite class was English 101 with James Hall. He cared very much about his students and showed it through his words and time. He is a very inspiring instructor.
6. Where do you hang-out on campus?
The best place on campus is the Student Life Office (A118). It has been a second home to me. The staff are fantastic, and they have provided a great place to relax after classes. This is also a great office for finding out about almost any campus event.
7. Do you have any advice for high school juniors and seniors as they embark on the college selection process?
I strongly suggest they consider Carroll as their next step towards furthering their education. The Hill Scholars program is a great program for incoming leaders.
