Academic Advising

Academic Advising is required for new, first-time students and optional for current and returning students. All new students attend a First Advising Session to learn about navigating their first semester at Carroll and developing an educational plan. Beyond a student's first semester at the college, advisors are available on a walk-in basis in the Advising Office to assist students with the registration process, transfer planning, declaring a major and more.

The office also serves as a resource for students who experience academic difficulty. All students who are on academic probation are required to see an advisor prior to registering, for planning purposes and for tips for classroom success. If a student is having difficulty with personal issues, he or she can also seek assistance from the office for counseling referrals in the community.
