FUNCTION: This position is responsible for daily operations of the mail center, supply and receiving area at the direction of the Specialist. Specific responsibilities include: receiving, sorting, and distributing incoming mail and packages from the post office and United Parcel Service; collecting and sorting all outgoing mail on campus; distributing intra-campus mail; compiling daily records for postage expenditures and maintenance log book for postage meter; maintaining current listing of name and location of all personnel to ensure proper and timely mail distribution; assisting with postal requirements for an education facility, including bulk mailing, and permitting; responding to request for assistance in determining appropriate mailing services to be used and encouraging college personnel to use the most cost-effective services whenever possible; assisting in annual inventory of all Central Warehouse supplies; assisting with the receipt, inspection, verification, and distribution of freight and supplies from vendors; returning damaged or incorrectly received goods; working directly with the vendor regarding item replacement, and shortages; assisting with shipment by UPS, parcel post, Air Freight, and other parcel shippers; managing and completing appropriate paperwork, informing sender of method and date of shipment and is responsible for the proper packaging, labeling, and logging of outgoing freight; processing requisitions for supplies, equipment, various forms, and various purchasing needs for facility set-ups at the direction of the Mail/Supply Center Specialist; inputting information into the Fixed Asset System; working closely with Information Technology to keep the computer equipment inventory accurate; assisting in maintaining inventory control, record keeping, and files as necessary for the documentation of supply requests, purchases, shipments, vendor acknowledgements, and purchase orders; maintaining stock and supply room in good order. REQUIREMENTS: A High School diploma or equivalent and one year of experience with similar functions is required. SALARY: Grade 3 on the 12-month Salary Scale. Minimum starting salary $19,861.
