PROFESSIONAL POSITION

 

 

The position of IT SECURITY ADMINISTRATOR is available in the Administration Division.  This position is on a full-time, 12-month basis working under the Director of Network & Technology Services.

FUNCTION:  Responsible for development, implementation, management, and compliance of information security standards and policies.  This position researches and implements technical security solutions that are applied to the network infrastructure and systems supporting the College, and develops and manages an information security incident response team.  Specific responsibilities include: maintaining knowledge regarding information security emerging trends, policies, standards, technologies, and threats; defining security frameworks for existing and new systems; coordinating the development, implementation, and administration of information security policies, practices, standards and programs; coordinating the assessment of information systems security risks: investigating and developing contingency plans by undertaking risk analysis, security investigations, surveys and threat assessments; ensuring that the College is complying with regulatory and business information security standards; managing and supporting network and security services in LAN, WAN, and Internet network infrastructure; providing training and oversight to all employees and third party vendors with regards to all information security policies and procedures; monitoring the internal control systems to ensure that appropriate access levels are maintained; providing after-hours support to respond to information security incidents and perform upgrades to systems as necessary.    

REQUIREMENTS:  Bachelor’s Degree and two years of professional level information security experience, OR AA degree plus four years of professional level information security experience required.  Information Assurance Certifications (CISSP, GIAC, and /or CISM) are desirable.  Prior working knowledge of and experience in policy and regulatory environment of information security (especially in higher education) is preferred.  Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of constituencies.

SCHEDULE:  Must be available to work occasional evenings and weekends. 

SALARY:  Grade 11 on the 12-Month Salary Scale. Minimum starting salary: $44,147, with actual placement based on credentials.  Plus excellent fringe benefit package.
