Fun for aspiring engineers, designers and artists in grades 2 - 8.

Morning or afternoon half-day options may be available after Friday, March 1.


Pre-registration is required.
Call 410-386-8100 to register and select your workshops. Online registration is not available.

Lunch: Children should bring a lunch that does not require refrigeration. Water will be provided, but children may also bring their own drink or be prepared to purchase one from the vending machine. The college Café will not be open.

Materials, Tools and Projects That Rock
For parents with an aspiring engineer, designer, artist, robotics expert or rocket scientist!

Get answers, ideas and a bag of maker goodies to setting up your home makerspace while involving the whole family! Learn to use basic hand tools, safe soldering fundamentals, and where to find tested maker projects and inspiration!

Maker Day Workshops

Grades 2 - 4
Breaking Bricks – LEGO® Hacks and Mods

Fuse, cut, cast and modify custom parts for unique LEGO® and Duplo® take-home projects. Work with polymer clay, adhesives and hand tools to drill, carve and connect plastic blocks into unique, awesome configurations. This original design course is for novice and experienced LEGO® builders. All projects go home!


FutureFab Jr.

Learn electronics and tinkering fundamentals by making a one-of-a-kind wiggling electromechanical toy to take home. Experiment with batteries, wires, electric motors, LED’s and cool craft materials. Perfect for aspiring engineers, designers and artists.

Make it Go! - Cars

Boys and girls design, fabricate and race an original wooden model car! They use real hand tools to cut, shape, sand and finish their project. For girls and boys who love to invent, draw and build with real tools!


Grades 5 - 8

Gear for the Great Outdoors

Boys and girls create a custom stuff sack using technical camping fabric. They also master essential machine and hand sewing techniques. They follow plans, measure, cut and assemble using real machines!

Sticker Lab - Vinyl Graphics for Young Entrepreneurs

Digitally design and robotically fabricate adhesive vinyl graphics to sell, trade or keep. Use laptops and awesome vector graphics software to design and custom cut professional quality stickers on our industrial vinyl plotters! For the budding artist, designer or entrepreneur.

Woodshop Apprenticeship

Master woodworking basics by creating an awesome “stuff box”. Follow plans, measure, mark, cut, drill, shape and finish softwoods using commercial grade hand tools. Everybody takes their custom project home!


Maker Day - Half-day Option

If space allows, students may register for either one morning or one afternoon session. Seats for the half-day option are released after Friday, March 1.
