Phlebotomy Technician

Phlebotomy Technicians work in clinical laboratory settings, hospitals and sometimes in physician’s offices. Their main job is to collect blood specimens as prescribed by physician’s orders. Hours may span day, evening, night and weekend shifts depending on the facility.



Position Requirements
Minimum of 18 years of age to be employed.



Information Unique to the Training
Students may practice drawing blood on each other. Courses prepare students to sit for ASCP national certification exams.

Licensure/Certification Earned
Upon successfully completing this training, you are prepared to sit for a national exam administered  by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) leading to a phlebotomy technician certification.
