General Education Requirements
Students who enroll in degree programs at Carroll Community College will complete a core of courses referred to as General Education. The course distribution is intended to ensure that students have mastered fundamental skills and demonstrated a core knowledge basic to college-level work.
These general education courses are transferable to all two and four year public institutions (and many private institutions) in Maryland as stipulated by Maryland State Transfer Policies.
It is recommended you complete a math and English course within your first 12 credit hours. You must at least start these courses by the completion of 24 credit hours, or registration will be blocked until you meet with an academic advisor for a possible exemption from this policy.
To ensure maximum success, math and English courses should be taken during consecutive terms until the sequence is completed.
