Course Description

MUSIC-229, Jazz Combo 4, students examine and perform various jazz pieces selected from the existing literature, which may include cool, swing, hard bop, bossa, Latin, samba, funk/rock, and other styles. The primary goals of this course are to review the elements of jazz, and explore the art of jazz improvisation. Prerequisite: exemption/completion of ASE Reading. Two hours laboratory each week. One credit. One billable hour. Offered Spring and Fall terms.
