Advice and a Slice - STEM
Wednesday, March 6
5:15 - 6:30 p.m.

Students interested in a career field, which incorporates science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) should attend this event. Plan to arrive at 5:15 p.m. for a slice of hot pizza and attend the panel discussion, which will be held from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. The confirmed panelists are as follows:

Movie - "Microcosmos"

Join us for the viewing of the 1996 documentary film "Microcosmos" by Claude Nuridsany and Marie Perennou, produced by Jacques Perrin. Through the use of close-ups, slow motion, and time-lapse photography, the film centers on insect life in meadows and ponds, set to the music of Bruno Coulais.

Bus Trip - National Air and Space Museum - Washington, DC
Friday, April 5
9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
$3 per person (students, staff and guests)
Sign up at the Cashier's Office by Thursday, April 4.

Meet the bus in Carroll's main parking lot. Drinks and snacks provided on the bus.

Join us as we travel to the National Air and Space Museum located on the National Mall in Washington, DC. The National Air and Space Museum has thousands of artifacts on display, including the Wright 1903 Flyer, the Spirit of St. Louis, the Apollo 11 Command Module Columbia and a lunar rock sample that visitors can touch.

Earth Day Celebration

Great Hall 

Join us for a variety of activities to celebrate the Earth. Weather permitting, learn how to create your own solar s'mores by using Fresnel lenses and huge concave mirrors. Check back for additional details.

Bus Trip - National Zoo

8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
$3 per person (students, staff and guests)

The day is yours to tour the National Zoo, located in Washington, DC.  Founded in 1889, and known as the Smithsonian National Zoological Park, the National Zoo spans 163 acres, and is set amid Rock Creek Park. The National Zoo is home to 2000 individual animals of nearly 400 different species. While the Zoo's most popular residents are the giant pandas, the Zoo is also home to great apes, big cats, Asian elephants, birds, amphibians, reptiles, insects, aquatic animals and small mammals.
