Carroll Community College Presents Performance of “Sweethearts & Scoundrels”
Westminster, Md., --Carroll Community College (Carroll) has created a unique special collection of opera-themed performances centering on “lovers united” and “lovers spurned” that will be presented on April 5 at 7:30 p.m. The show, titled “Sweethearts & Scoundrels,” will take place in the theater in the Scott Center. The performance originally scheduled for Valentine’s Day was cancelled due to inclement weather and April 5 is the rescheduled performance date.
The one-time only performance is intended to generate audience interest in the art of opera in advance of Carroll’s major summer opera (coming later this year in August) called the “Elixir of Love.” Proceeds from the production of “Sweethearts & Scoundrels” will help to defray the cost of producing the upcoming summer opera production. “Sweethearts and Scoundrels” is also intended to raise awareness of opera at Carroll.
“No matter how you feel about relationships, you won’t want to miss our Carroll faculty members Sarah Howes, Peter Burroughs, Madelyn Wanner and Carroll students, in this cabaret. There's something for every musical taste, including opera, musical theatre, and more. All kinds of music for all kinds of moods are performed in a cabaret-style, celebrating the ups and downs of love! The ticket price also includes a dessert reception following the show,” said Chair of Performing Arts Bill Gillett.
General Admission is $15. Senior adults over age 65, faculty, staff and students with I.D. may purchase tickets for $10. For more information, call Theresa Fourcade at 401-386-8564 or e-mail email@example.com.
