Jeanean Songco Martin Paintings on Display
Jeanean Songco Martin: Landscapes and Figures will be on display Nov. 5 through Dec. 14, 2006 in the Gallery in the Scott Center at Carroll Community College, 1601 Washington Road, Westminster. An opening reception will be held Nov. 5 from 2 to 4 p.m. and will feature music by The Martin Family Band.
Jeanean Songco Martin has been a painter and musician for 30 years. Her landscapes include the Maryland countryside, the glades of Chincoteague Island, Va., the low country of Tybee Island, Ga. and distant vistas as far as Ireland. Her figurative work includes portrait studies of friends, family, and models.
Martin has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Maryland Institute of Art. She teaches locally, travels, and plays the hammered dulcimer and guitar with The Martin Family Band.
The Gallery in the Scott Center is open Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
