Carroll Community College Presents the Play “Distracted”
Westminster, Md.—Carroll Community College will present performances of the play “Distracted” on Feb. 27, 2014 at 7:30 p.m.; Feb. 28 at 7:30 p.m.; March 1 at 7:30 p.m.; and March 2 at 2 p.m. A post-show “talk balk” will be held, in which cast and invited experts will discuss the play with members of the audience on Feb. 27 only. Performances will be held in the Theater in the Scott Center.
“Distracted” is a hilarious, poignant look at a modern family. A mother and father fumble and struggle as they attempt to handle their nine-year-old who can sit still and is acting out. The child is diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder, and the mother sets off on a quest for answers. This candid performance explores the question, “Are we so tuned into our information-rich world that we’ve tuned out what really matters?”
The play was written by Lisa Loomer and will be directed by Mark Kamie. General admission is $10 and the cost is five dollars for senior adults over age 65, faculty, staff and students with ID.
