Carroll Community College Announces Adult Education Events for June and July

Westminster, Md., —The Carroll Community College (Carroll) Adult Education program offers classes for speakers of other languages, family literacy, and high school diploma preparation monthly. Several sessions are being offered this June and July.

On June 21 and June 24, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, an orientation for high school diploma programs for adults will be held at the Adult Education offices at 224 North Center Street in Westminster. The free sessions include an overview of the daytime and evening high school diploma programs for adults, including both GED preparation classes and the National External Diploma Program.

The sessions will be held again on June 26 and June 27, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Adult Education offices. On July 2 and July 3, the sessions will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the same location.


On June 27 and June 28 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Carroll Community College Adult Education will hold registration for family literacy classes for those interested in improving their English language skills. Early childhood education is available for children of participating parents. The free classes will be held at the Carroll County Family Center at 10 Distillery Drive in Westminster. A class will be offered again on July 1 from 5:45 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. at the same location.


On July 2 and 3 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Carroll Community College Adult Education will hold free orientation for family literacy classes for those who are interested in obtaining a high school diploma. Early childhood education is available for children of participating parents. The location is the Carroll County Family Center at 10 Distillery Drive in Westminster.

On July 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., Carroll Community College Adult Education will hold a free registration for English classes for speakers of other languages. Classes offer basic reading, writing and speaking skills. Students also learn about computers and community resources and activities. Beginning and intermediate-level classes are offered at no charge. Registration will be held at the Adult Education Office at 224 North Center Street in Westminster. An additional registration session will be held on July 8 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the same location.
