FIRST RESPONDER TRAINING OFFERED AT CARROLL COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Carroll Community College is offering a First Responder course beginning in September for anyone interested in developing their emergency medical skills.
First Responder is an exciting opportunity to develop emergency medical skills and knowledge that will enable you to assist people who have sustained an accidental injury or who are suffering from a sudden illness or medical emergency. This program follows a national curriculum that was developed by representatives from many federal and state agencies and professional medical groups.
Training as a First Responder can make you a vital link in the event of any natural or man-made disaster.
Upon successful completion, participants will receive a National Safety Council Certificate. Participants may also opt to test with Maryland Institute of Emergency Medical Services Systems (MIEMSS) to be a Maryland Certified First Responder at the completion of the course.
First Responder training will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Sept. 19 through Nov. 14 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 4, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Carroll Community College (no classes on 9/21, 9/28, 10/5, 10/10, & 10/12). The cost is $545 ($109 for MD Senior Adults) and includes texts. The course number is AHE703A2.
To register, or for more information, call Continuing Education & Training at 410-386-8100. Space is limited.
