Carroll Community College Offers Performances of Much Ado About Nothing

Westminster, Md., Carroll Community College will offer performances of William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing. The play will be held on Thursday, April 26 at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, April 27 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, April 28 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 29 at 2 p.m. College Program Coordinator for Theatre Bill Gillett is the director.

One of Shakespeare's best loved romantic comedies, Much Ado About Nothing tells the story of two couples - one totally devoted to each other and the other always locking horns, immune to love's charms. This play is filled with friendship, betrayal, mistaken identity, hilarious antics, and the power of love.

“Much Ado is going to be a lot of fun,” said Gillett. “We’ve set the play in pre-Civil War America, on a plantation in the south. I think this will make the play more accessible and more enjoyable – think Shakespeare meets Gone With The Wind! It’s fantastic to see young actors take on the bard and learn how relevant and exciting Shakespeare can be.”

General admission is $10. Senior adults, faculty, staff and student with ID can purchase tickets for $5.
