Carroll Community College Miller Center for Small Business Announces Fall Lineup
Westminster, Md., The Miller Center for Small Business at Carroll Community College will serve entrepreneurs, existing small business owners, and business professionals with a series of unique and high-quality business development events this fall.
The Out-of-the-Office networking event will be held Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in room K 100. Business professionals are invited to attend this popular event to discuss and share best practices and strengthen their professional network. On Friday, Nov. 4, 2011 from 7:30 a.m.to 9:30 a.m., a breakfast seminar called “Lending Options in Today’s Economy,” will feature Maryland TEDCO and seven local and national financial institutions as presenters in room K100. “Maryland TEDCO provides ‘seed’ funding for technologies that lead to commercialization of a product,” said Coordinator of the Miller Center for Small Business Marlene Titus. The presentation will cover loan products, grant funding opportunities, and financial resources for small business owners and entrepreneurs.
On Friday, Nov. 11 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., the fourth annual Entrepreneurship Conference, “Making Art Your Business,” will feature Danielle DiFerdinando of Danielle Nicole Handbags in room K100. She will share her story of graduating from a Maryland high school, being a student at the Fashion Institute of Technology, studying in Europe, and the creation of her international handbag business. Her advice, and that of the breakout session instructors, will provide practical information for those wanting to start or grow a business in the arts.
