Carroll Community College Child Development Center Fall Registration Underway

Westminster, Md., June 22, 2011—Registration is underway and space is still available at the Child Development Center at Carroll Community College for fall, 2011.

Carroll Community College’s Child Development Center provides an intellectually stimulating environment that engages children ages two-and-a half to five years. Staff members teach the importance of exploration and play as a means to integrate math, science, language, literacy, music, art, and essential motor activities. Emphasis is placed on each child’s individual learning style.

The center offers:

• Highly qualified staff, which exceeds the state-recommended child-to-teacher ratio
• Stimulating environment to learn and play
• Small class size
• Child-friendly facilities
• Convenient location
• Full and part-time care, pre-school
• Openings for children of students, employees and community members

The Child Development Center follows the same pre-kindergarten curriculum set forth by the state of Maryland. In addition, other theories/curriculum enhance the program. Children who complete the program are prepared for kindergarten.

The Child Development Center also serves as a place for professionals to observe young children and refine education skills. College and community research by students, families, psychologists, early childhood education departments, and other professionals is a priority. Opportunities abound for observation, discussion, and assessment of young children.

The Maryland State Department of Education licenses the Child Development Center.
