Westminster Resident Christopher Martin to Serve as Student Speaker at Commencement
Carroll Community College Commencement Scheduled for May 25, 2011
Westminster, Md., Westminster resident Christopher Martin, a 2011 graduate of Carroll Community College (Carroll), will be the Student Speaker during Commencement ceremonies on May 25, 2011. Ceremonies are held annually at McDaniel College.
Martin was selected as the Student Speaker because of his classroom and campus involvement, including serving as president of the Student Government Organization. Martin is a Hill Scholar with a 3.57 G.P.A. He has been a member of the soccer club and of the Campus Activities Board (CAB).
“Christopher is a fine, well-rounded student who is an inspiration to his fellow students,” said College President Dr. Faye Pappalardo.
Martin majored in business at Carroll. He plans to transfer to Salisbury University and major in International Financial Investing.
“I have quickly reached the end of my journey at Carroll. I notice that I have grown more in these last two years than I ever imagined,” said Martin. “With the support of the spectacular faculty, and through my classes and my peers, I will be forever influenced for many years to come. I truly feel that Carroll represents the quote, ‘knowledge is power; however, application is success.’”
