Student Writing Contest Deadline Approaches -
Annual Random House Book Fair to Benefit Carroll Community College Foundation
Westminster, Md., The Fourteenth Annual Random House Book Fair to benefit the Carroll Community College Foundation is scheduled for Saturday, March 5, 2011. Kick-off events will be held the evening of Friday, March 4, 2011.
Carroll County students in first through twelfth grades are invited to enter a previously unpublished short story and/or poem in the Annual Random House Book Fair Student Writing Contest.
The contest deadline is Nov. 19, 2010. Entries and cover sheets should be postmarked by Nov. 19, 2010 or may be delivered in person to the Carroll Community College Foundation office, Room M261, 1601 Washington Rd. Contest information, criteria, and registration packet can be found at the Carroll Community College website http://www.carrollcc.edu (search for Student Writing Contest).
All finalists will be published in a 2011 Student Writing Contest booklet that will be available for purchase at the Annual Random House Book Fair. Each winning author will have the opportunity to read an excerpt of his or her work on the day of the Annual Random House Book Fair on March 5, 2011.
The continued success of the Annual Random House Book Fair is made possible by the generous support of the community. Proceeds from the Annual Random House Book Fair directly impact our students. Since its inception in 1997, the event has raised over $280,000 for student scholarships.
