Basketball Legend Wes Unseld to Serve as Honorary Chair of the Ninth Annual Random House Book Fair
Wes Unseld, a former NBA player known for his exceptional rebounding skills, a former professional coach, and a Basketball Hall of Famer, is giving back to the community by serving as Random House Book Fair Honorary Chair.
The event will be held Saturday, Nov.12, 2005 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Carroll Community College at 1601 Washington Rd. in Westminster, Md.
"I am very pleased that Mr. Unseld is serving as Honorary Chair of the Book Fair again this year. It was a joy having him here last year. His participation this year shows his dedication to the citizens of Carroll County," said College President Dr. Faye Pappalardo.
"Mr. Unseld, who lives with his family in Carroll County, is committed to improving educational opportunities for youth," said Steven Wantz, executive director of Institutional Development and Carroll Community College Foundation. "It's only natural that he would agree to serve as Honorary Chair of an event that attracts so many families to share their love of books and reading. He is a role model for improving the lives of children and making the community a better place."
Unseld will address the gathering at the Random House Book Fair in the afternoon. The Random House Book Fair benefits the Carroll Community College Foundation and proceeds help to fund student scholarships. For more information, call 410-386-8155.
