Carroll Community College Foundation Kicks-Off Annual Random House Book Fair

Kick-Off Events Scheduled for Friday, March 5;
Annual Random House Book Fair Scheduled for Saturday, March 6

Westminster, Md., Jan. 29, 2010-An evening of kick-off events will be held on Friday, March 5 in anticipation of the Annual Random House Book Fair to be held the next day. The Annual Random House Book Fair and its kick-off will be held at Carroll Community College at 1601 Washington Rd. in Westminster, Md.

A family movie featuring "Planet 51" will be shown at 4:30 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. on Friday in the Theater in the Scott Center. Admission is $3. Tickets go on sale starting Monday, March 1 through Thursday, March 4. Contact 410-386-8152 for tickets in advance or purchase them at the theater starting at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 5.

Author and poet Marion Winik, will read from her own poems and essays on Friday at 7 p.m. in the Student Center. Her work has been published in national magazines and newspapers. She was the recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship in Creative Non-Fiction.

The Annual Random House Book Fair will feature national authors, discounted book sales, children's activities, and a wealth of literary and family activities the next day, Saturday, March 6, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the college.
