Carroll Community College Offers a Variety of Adult Education Classes
Westminster, Md., Sept. 11, 2009--Carroll Community College offers daytime and evening GED preparation classes at various sites in the county. Registration and pre-testing will be held the week of Sept. 28 at the Adult Education Offices at 224 North Center Street in Westminster. An appointment is required; please call 410-386-2550 for information and to schedule pre-testing.
Carroll Community College offers daytime and evening English classes for speakers of other languages in Westminster. Classes cover basic reading, writing and speaking skills; students also learn about computers and community resources and activities. Classes are offered at no charge. Registration sessions will be held at the Adult Education Offices at 224 North Center on Monday, September 28 at 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 8:30 a.m. For more information, please call 410-386-2550.
Carroll Community College offers the National External Diploma Program, which provides an alternate route for obtaining a high school diploma for adults over age 18. A pre-screening session to determine program eligibility will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 9:00 a.m. and Thursday, Oct. 8 at 6:00 p.m. at 224 North Center Street, Westminster, MD 21157. There is no charge for the pre-screening; tuition for the program is $200. Limited financial assistance is available for students who qualify. Carroll Community College announces registration for fall Family Literacy classes. Free classes are open to parents interested in pursuing a high school diploma or improving their English language skills. Early childhood education is available for children of participating parents. Registration will be held at HSP's Family Center the week of Oct. 5. There are also English classes for speakers of other languages held at Robert Moton.
