Carroll Community College Offers Adult Education Programs
Westminster, Md., July 30, 2009--Carroll Community College offers the National External Diploma Program, which provides an alternate route for obtaining a high school diploma for adults over age 18. A pre-screening session to determine program eligibility will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 13 at 9 a.m. and Thursday, Aug. 14 9 at 6 p.m. There is no charge for the pre-screening; tuition for the program is $200. Limited financial assistance is available for students who qualify. Please call 410-386-2550 for information and to register for a pre-screening session.
The college announces registration for fall Family Literacy classes. Free classes are open to parents interested in pursuing a high school diploma or improving their English language skills. Early childhood education is available for children of participating parents. Registration will be held at HSP's Family Center the weeks of Aug. 17 and Sept. 7. The college also offers daytime and evening GED Preparation classes at North West Middle School. Registration and pre-testing will be held the week of Aug. 24 at North West Middle School. An appointment is required; please call 410-386-2550 for information and to schedule pre-testing.
