Carroll Community College Recognized with Datatel Award
Westminster, Md., March 19, 2009-Carroll Community College has been selected to receive the 2009 Datatel Partners in Excellence Award for two-year institutions. Datatel, Inc. annually grants an award to one two-year institution and one four-year institution among its client base.
The college will be recognized at the Datatel User's Group Conference Opening Session on April 6, where college representatives will be presented with a $4,000 check and a commemorative plaque.
"This elite award recognizes collaboration between Datatel and the college, and applauds the college's best practices in utilizing our product," said Elizabeth A. Murphy, chief client officer at Datatel, Inc. The company serves five million students at more than 770 institutions throughout North America and overseas. Datatel, Inc. has focused exclusively on higher education for more than 30 years.
College President Dr. Faye Pappalardo said, "We are honored to receive this award from an exemplary partner such as Datatel, Inc. Both our internal and external constituents benefit from Datatel services."
Carroll Community College utilizes Datatel as an "enterprise database software" for student and employee data, which includes financial accounting, human resources, and institutional research, among other functions.
The college received this honor because of its active participation in the Datatel community, advancement of higher education issues, innovative information technology practices, and development of stronger services for faculty, staff, and students
Carroll Community College is an accredited institution of higher education which offers credit and non-credit programs for full and part-time students.
