Westminster, Md., Dec. 17, 2008-On Dec. 16, 2008, twenty-four graduates of the physical therapist assistant program at Carroll Community College were recognized during a ceremony at the Theater in the Scott Center.
The graduates have completed their Associate in Applied Science degrees and will be eligible to take the national license exam in January. All program graduates are employed or have offers of employment to begin after their licensure.
"This ceremony recognizes the intense amount of work these students put forth and the sacrifices which family and friends made so that students can complete the program," said Sharon Reid, director of the P.T.A. program at Carroll.
Kathryn McGinty was the student speaker. Christina Conner and Bria Crites received the Academic Excellence award for achieving a 4.0 grade point average. Conner also received the Clinical Excellence award.
