Barbara H. Biller was elected chair of the board of trustees at Carroll Community College at the board's regular meeting on June 18, 2008. She succeeds past chair David Bollinger. Biller was vice-chair of the board of trustees prior to the recent election.

"I am honored to have the opportunity to chair the board of trustees and continue to deliver on the mission of Carroll Community College," said Biller. "I strongly encourage everyone to visit the college and experience a campus that fosters and promotes life-long learning. There is truly something there for everyone in the community."

"Mrs. Biller will do an outstanding job as chair of our board of trustees," said College President Dr. Faye Pappalardo. "She has always been an advocate and firm supporter of Carroll Community College, its mission, and philosophy. As president, I look forward to working with Mrs. Biller."

Biller has over 25 years of experience designing and implementing processes to improve business performance and ensure business growth. Currently, she is president of Intellitech, Inc. in Westminster, Md., a manufacturer of liquid packaging machinery for the bio-tech and pharmaceutical industries, including the i-FILL® precision dispensing pump and the intelliFILLER™ liquid fill/finish system.

The college board of trustees consists of seven members. The board's primary function is to establish the policies that govern the college and to see that the institution fulfills its missions and goals.
