Richard Hann Appointed to State of Maryland Board
Hann is Carroll Community College Adjunct
Richard Hann, adjunct psychology instructor at Carroll Community College, has been appointed a member of the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists for the remainder of a term of four years from July 1, 2006.
The Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors & Therapists (the board) is an independent entity established in 1986 by Maryland State law. The board is located under the administrative umbrella of the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene with other health occupations boards.
The board provides for the examination, licensure, certification, regulation and discipline of professional counselors, marriage and family therapists, and alcohol and drug counselors within this state.
The board consists of nine members appointed by the Governor with the advice of the Secretary. Additionally, an advisor member is appointed by the Governor to consult on issues relative to alcohol and drug counselors.
"This role for Richard Hann as a board member illustrates the professional applications of classroom theories and skills," said Dr. James Ball, vice-president for Academic and Student Affairs at Carroll Community College.
"I am pleased that a member of our faculty has been recognized in this manner," said College President Dr. Faye Pappalardo.
