Microsoft Across America Truck to Arrive at
Carroll Community College September 21

The Microsoft Across America Truck, a traveling educational showcase of software solutions for business, will arrive at Carroll Community College on Friday, Sept. 21, 2007.

Interactive demonstrations will be conducted between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. outside the front entrance to the college at workstations inside the 42-foot truck.

Exhibits, interactive experiences, and free seminars on Windows Vista, Office 2007 and Microsoft Exchange Server, will be available by registering for the event online at Space is limited to the first 100 registrants. Demos will be given to small groups every 20 minutes.

"To complement the college's emphasis on workforce development and business training in the community, Carroll wants to expose the community to the most up-to-date tools available for businesses," said Kathy Menasche, senior director of Workforce and Business Development. "The college invited the Microsoft Across America Truck to the campus to showcase state-of-the art technology to the county."
"We encourage visitors to sign up online as early as possible because space is limited for this first-of-its kind event in Carroll County," said Matt Day, coordinator of technology training.

Participants will be given a boarding pass to board the truck during designated times. While waiting their turns, participants are encouraged to visit campus educational exhibits and free workshops on computers and small business provided by the Business Training Center.

The Carroll Technology Council is partnering with the community college to host the event.

Through Continuing Education and Training at the college, members of the community can take technology classes. For a limited time, new fall Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007 classes are just $99. Each class includes lunch, a laminated reference guide, a USB flash drive and textbook.
