Carroll Community College Commencement to be Held May 23, 2007
On May 23, 2007 at 3:00 p.m., Carroll Community College students who have dedicated themselves to completing a degree will have the opportunity to cross the graduation stage and receive diplomas.
Although the final total is still being determined, 400 students have applied to graduate with degrees or certificates. Graduates of the Class of 2007 include students who completed degrees in August, December, and May. The Commencement ceremony is attended by many in the graduating class and will be held at McDaniel College in Westminster, Md.
According to a survey completed by graduates at the time of application for graduation, over 40 percent indicated they plan to transfer to a four-year college or university immediately as a full-time student. The most popular single transfer destination is Towson University. When asked if they expected to be employed upon completion of their degrees at Carroll, over 36 percent of respondents said yes, in a job related to their majors at Carroll. Approximately sixty-eight percent of student students surveyed said they intend to work in Carroll County after graduation. When asked how they felt about the overall quality of instruction at Carroll, almost 97 percent of students gave a rating of "good or very good."
The Commencement ceremony will be attended by members of the board of trustees, local dignitaries, and family and friends of graduates.
