Spring, 2007 Enrollment Breaks Record
Official credit enrollment for spring, 2007 totaled 3,079 students, a record for Carroll Community College (Carroll). For the first time spring headcount was above 3,000. This spring, headcount was up almost eight percent from spring, 2006.
Total headcount includes both part-time and full-time students. This spring, there are 1,828 part-time students and 1,251 full-time students.
Estimated full-time-equivalent (FTE) enrollment eligible for state aid reached 899, an increase of 7.8 percent from last fall. FTE converts the hours taken by full and part-time students into their equivalent in full-time students. (Eligible FTE excludes out-of state students, employees, and their dependents.) This number is used by the state to determine part of the state's funding for community colleges. FTEs are at an all-time high for a spring semester at Carroll.
"Our increase in enrollment this spring is a testimony to the emphasis we place on the teaching and learning process," said College President Dr. Faye Pappalardo. "Many Carroll County citizens can attest to the fine education that our students receive, and this reputation encourages others to make the choice to attend Carroll."
Carroll Community College is located at 1601 Washington Rd., in Westminster, Md.
