Physical Therapists Complete Program at Carroll

Sixteen Physical Therapist Assistant Students Complete Program at Carroll Community College
Carroll Community College held a ceremony for 16 physical therapist assistant students who completed the program this fall. The ceremony was held Dec. 12, 2006 in the Theater in the Scott Center.
"There is quite a need in the health care community for physical therapist assistants," said Sharon Main, director of the program at the college. "The field is booming. All of our graduates have had at least one offer of employment. They will be working in outpatient settings, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and acute rehabilitation settings."

The ceremony also included the presentation of special awards for outstanding students and faculty. Student Holly Moan was the winner of the Academic Excellence Award. Ahmad Hawkins was the winner of the Clinical Excellence Award. Carole Fisher, P.T., received the Clinical Instructor of the Year Award. Fisher, who supervises PTA students in their clinical rotations, works at Lorien Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Mt. Airy, Md.
